Domestic Violence Film Screening

On 10th December 2010 we celebrated and organized the screening of Deum Krasang, a Domestic Violence Documentary Film. ‘Deum Krasang’ in Khmer literally means sour fruit tree, but is used in the film when a man explains to his children that their mother is a powerful tree, that needs little water yet still stands strong and produces much fruit.

The event took place at Beoung Kork Youth School in Toul Kork District. There were 23 women who participated actively in the event with many questions and answers. Most of the women are living in families where domestic violence occurs. Many were moved to tears at the screening. They are living every day experiencing Domestic Violence.
